The Power of Persistence

Updated: Oct 7, 2021

Many of us are facing challenges in our lives that have caused us to feel stuck, yet, we are holding on to hope and believing that God will make a way sometime soon. Some face health, financial, relationship, and many other challenges that require us to exercise our faith. Yes, I said it exercise our faith! God is saying, what are you going to do? He has already provided us with Kingdom resources, keys that will allow us to overcome the battles we face, as in the parable of the widow in Luke 18:1-8.

What if, like the widow, we applied some persistence to the challenges we are faced with? We must keep on seeking and keep on asking ( Luke 11:9); though the vision tarry, wait for it, it will surely come according to Habakkuk 2:3. One primary key (solution) to this widow's persistence was her willingness to be fearless. She could have allowed fear of angering and disrupting the king to deter her. She could have even let the fact that the king was not God-fearing or caring to stop her from pursuing what she needed.

Instead, she determined to do whatever it took to get the outcome she desired. Just as the widow refused to give up, we must also choose to be persistent and our prayers. As we seek God and seek His will for our lives, we will receive the revelation we need to overcome the problems we are facing. Our situation may not immediately change, but rather, our perspective regarding the situation changes. Our persistence is what will bring about the solutions.

Be encourage and stand firm on God's promises to you. Persist in prayer by asking Him for healing and deliverance in each of these challenges. Know that God is able to do exceeding and abundantly above all you can ask or think according to the Power that works in you (Ephesians 3:20)!

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for allowing me to keep on asking You. You are a gracious Father who desires only the best for me. Give me the courage to keep seeking and trusting You through every situation. Remove all doubt and fear from me and teach me how to activate the keys You have provided for me. In Jesus name. Amen.
